Notifications

Notifications should be fast enough to protect users, but calm enough to avoid alert fatigue.

Downtime notifications

Downtime delay defines how long a monitor must stay down before Uptimus alerts your team.

Use a short delay for critical APIs and a longer delay for endpoints that are known to have temporary network noise.

Performance notifications

Performance alerts help catch slowdowns before a full outage.

Useful rules include:

  • a response-time threshold in milliseconds;
  • a percentage change from the recent baseline;
  • a number of consecutive slow checks before notifying.

Together, these rules make alerts more trustworthy because one slow sample is not always a customer-impacting incident.
